ABOUT US
Concerned Citizens of Johnson County (CCJC) is an organization of citizens, joining together as neighbors to promote the common welfare of the residents of Johnson County.
OUR MISSION
To ensure that Johnson County remains a healthy, safe, prosperous, and orderly place to live;
With freedom, equality, and respect for individual rights and the rule of law;
Where government is by, of, and for THE PEOPLE, and no law-abiding citizen need ever fear or resent it;
Where private property is sacred, yet neighbors work together with respect for each other, and for the fabric of society which holds us together;
Where our heritage is known, treasured, and preserved, while we strive to embrace change and welcome new friends, neighbors, and family.
GOALS
Encouraging public knowledge of, and participation in, the functions of our communities and government;
Encouraging, in a non-partisan fashion, competition for every public office;
Government which is open, ethical, reformed, and efficient;
Using planning & zoning to preserve farmland and natural areas, and curb incompatible and unhealthy land use;
Ensuring that growth is SMART, not destructive, and beneficial to TAXPAYERS;
Investing in and improving our infrastructure, and keeping its ownership PUBLIC whenever possible;
Investing in our local roads, streets, walkways, and trails, rather than new superhighways;
Encouraging transportation alternatives, such as shared and public transit, as well as walking and biking.
